Traveled form Leicester to London today seemed to be more HST's than
Meridians, Any reason for this?

Because MML has a lot more HSTs than Meridians?

Fewer trains on a Sunday. But still quite a few people travelling,
especially later in the day. An HST can carry more people than a
Meridian. (Well, more than a 9-coach Meridian, one of which I noticed
while passing Central Rivers depot today.)
