If you look at the top of the page, it states:-

 PDC 5350a Digital Camera
5.2 Mega Pixel Digital Camera. Now on offer at 89.77

I know, I ordered one in the week and it arrived yesterday, very nice it is
too!

The price is directly under the red Polaroid bar at the top. Maybe you need
to register with them before you can see? I guess I'm still logged in from
the other day.

It wasn't there for me either.
But since eventually finding it with the price on another page, the link you
supplied now seems to give the price etc but no option to buy. It doesn't
even give me any dealers to buy from!!

Yup - get the price once registered. Still no way to actually buy it.

Curious - like I said, I definitely bought one from there as it is sitting
in front of me as I type! Just got to make sure I don't drop this one like
my old Fuji.....

Might be worth an email to Polaroid to ask what is going on with their site?

Just referred to my email invoice, SKU code is 647835, there is an email
address of IBCW@polaroid.com - might be worth dropping them a line to ask
why you can't order it?

Hmmm, try this, after some prodding about I found this one:

I think you need to change the country from US to UK. I did this, then
clicked on the original link again. Lo and behold, the price in s.

Finally. That works.

Tempting. Do I really need another digicam, though.....

Oh, hell, that's a lot of pixels for feck-all cash.

Indeed it is. Could buy 2, stick one on Ebay and with the cash off that get
yours for free, although some might argue that is a tad greedy :)

Reasonable specifications except:
1) it plays 640x480 MPEG-4 in only 12 frames per second, which would
flicker a lot and anything less then 20 fps is unwatchable; and
2) Polaroid went into receivership some 4 years ago. Can you still get
backup service? I wonder if you can get any replacement battery, for
example.

Are you sure? I regularly encode movies to 15fps for my Pocket PC, and they
are more than watchable!

Can't fault it, automatic settings give good pic quality, but you can go
into manual mode, set shutter speed, white balance, etc - picture quality is
extremely good. Resolution at high is something silly like 2500x1900 or so.
Very impressed.

Not fussed about backup service for 89 quid! It's got the statutory 12
months warranty, and I notice on Ebay I can buy replacement batteries for
it, might order one as a spare :)

Thinking about it, this camera is not 4 years old so it must mean that
Polaroid are still developing cameras despite being in receivership - surely
that's the important thing?

Intrigued, I looked up the company file. Polaroid filed Voluntary Chapter
11 Petition in 2001. The following year saw a phoenix when it was purchased
by One Equity Partners, and a new chairman.

I suppose you're one of those who buys tat because it has a designer label
on, even though it's shit?

Look at the specs - that is the important bit, though I suppose the
definitive point is the superb picture quality it produces. But, if you
think it looks awful, then go spend double on something more style-friendly.

Could you upload a few high-res photos, please? I have been trying to
find reviews about this camera, but not very successful.

Many thanks.

Received mine today - very impressed
Two questions:
1. It was shipped by Deutsche Post from: Customer Returns @ IBC, Polaroid UK
Limited. Does that mean I got a refurb?
2. Will it take a 1GB SD card? Instructions say upto 512MB. Have searched
but can't find anything.

Cheers

Don't think so, there was no mention of it being refurb on the site, plus
the fact mine looks *immaculate*, even down to the plastic peel-off-sticky
on the screen.

Unsure, use a 512mb myself with no problems, might be worth borrowing a gig
and seeing if it works!

Ah, I just used it to install the driver!

Any comments on the picture quality? I'm having some test prints done which
I will pick up tomorrow. But I felt the viewer was a bit grainy and didn't
inspire confidence.

Nearly forgot, don't forget to check the resolution - it defaults to low
(640x480 or so), need to manually change it up, as per user guide.

I set it to Fine and Large resolution. I shall see what the prints look
like when I journey to Boots this afternoon.

Love to see your pictures but what I got were small squares with a red cross
inside. I lowered the default Internet Security Level to the lowest level,
but still no joy. Any suggestion?

They are definitely still on Gigashare (not great piccies i hasten to add).
Maybe you have some sort of software that is suppressing images? It works
for me in Firefox and IE6. You're just seeing the placeholders so something
is interfering. Maybe clear your cache, restart your browser and try again?
I doubt it's a security thing so ramp that setting back up!
