373s post 2007 CTRL DC ?
Spinning off from the other recent question about the present CTRL
route and whether it will be kept post 2007, what about 373s ?

At present they use DC.

When North Pole is gone, and the depot is at Stratford, I think I am
right in saying they will have no use for any DC operation in normal
circumstances. Emergency stopping short issues are supposedly to be
dealt with at Stratford, so there is no use for Olympia either.
(Beleive it or not I can't remember what the set up is at Ashford
International regarding the staion platforms whether these are AC
wired, or are third rail.)

Would that mean then they could remove third rail capability, saving on
maintenance ?

Pedants note, I am talking about 750 V DC third rail, not about 1500 V
DC for Avignon, etc south of France operating.

I believe I read (probably MR) that that was the intention.

And third rail as well, I used it the other day. You use
whichever voltage you're currently on, unless you're going to
swap routes.
