Eng works 2/8 Wandsworth Common area - GEx diversion
'Emergency engineering works in the Wandsworth Common area' this
morning, which I read as 'oh sh*t is that supposed to be like that?
NO', but my reason for posting is to ask about this:
I saw an up Gatwick Express on the slow lines being sent up the curve
from Streatham Common to Streatham at (I believe) Streatham South
junction. My question is, did it get back to the correct 'side' of
Victoria station? I imagine it would go through Streatham, Tulse Hill,
Herne Hill then switch to the Kent lines into Victoria, but I don't
recall it being possible to cross over from the Kent side to the Sussex
side on the approach to Victoria.

IIRC it is possible, either by crossing to the Atlantic Lines at Shepherds
Lane (just north of Brixton) then running via Battersea Park, or by going on
to the low level route at Factory Junction, crossing to the Brighton Line at
Stewarts Lane.
