May be OT. Educating Rita
Dear Group,
I've just been watching "Educating Rita" starring Michael Caine and Julie
Walters. Now as you probably all know the majority of this film was shot in
Trinity College Dublin and around the Dublin area but in one scene, where
"Rita" is off to Open University summer school She boards what is clearly a
BR Train in the two tone blue livery. The lead coach of this train bears
the number M70238 and appears to be a MK1 but with modifications. Can
anybody tell me where this scene was shot and whether or not the exterior
views of the Station are in UK or Dublin?

Thanks in advance

Michael

The only '70238' I can find from 1983 (when the film was made) belong to
4-CEP 1525, but that would have been S70328, not M70328. :-S

The station was in Dublin, Pearse Station if I remember correctly. The 'MK1'
was a Irish Rail Cravens coach painted up for the part.
