Due to a fatality at Spondon this afternoon, my train from Chesterfield
to London (16:40) was diverted from Derby.  We went on the Birmingham
line instead of the Midland line south of Derby, then the train
reversed and went along another line to rejoin the Midland line south
of Long Eaton.

My sympathies to the driver of the affected train.  Which train was
involved?

Goes via Stenson and reverses then goes to Sheet Stores junc which is
just south of Long Eaton. This line is predominately all freight.
