Vandals Frequenting Railway Groups
I got the link to this MSN group:
http://groups.msn.com/SouthLondonLoonies/newyearupdate05.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=2778
from a Railway-related forum, and they even know what kind of trains
they are vandalising by the looks of it,
just watch out!
(PS: forwarded the link to BTP)

Interesting. Of course, photographing the results of crime is not
necessarily a crime in itself, and the group does have a prominent
disclaimer:

"SouthLondonLoonies does not necessarily share the views expressed by
the contributors and we do not accept any responsibility for any
endorsement and criminal conduct of any sort, we accept no
responsibility for the actions of our viewers. SouthLondonLoonies DOES
NOT PROMOTE ANY ILLEGAL OR LEGAL GRAFFITI"

Then again, the same page also carries the mystifying words: "Don't Take
Our Flicks We Have Took Time In Getting Them So Respect It!" And there
seem to be 80 collections of photos, of which just one is labelled
"legals-commisions", which strongly suggests that the others are neither
legal nor commissioned.

I expect that BTP have greater concerns on their minds at the moment,
but I hope they will file this URL away for later reference.

I was half-expecting "this is 4-CIG 1805 and 4-VEP 3901 being
vandalised before working the 16:47 to Brighton followed by an ECS
move to Lovers' Walk..."

Seriously though, what a loathsome and contemptible site. Hopefully it
will be of some use to the BTP in catching the perpetrators.

And does that have any legal meaning at all? The entire purpose and
function of their website is to promote illegal (and maybe even legal)
graffiti.

If you buy that disclaimer then maybe I could burgle your house, but
stick a post-it note on the door saying "I do not steal", and you'd
let me get away with it? :)

It would be a lot more like if they took a picture of your house being
burgled.
