Any thing nice for the weekend?
Didn't manage to get out this weekend, ended up going round to our friends
house and try some new fish cakes for thier restaraunt. It a hard life, and
the kids can play together too!
That said, Mrs. MB cooked up some nice tal-fan to go with our chilli squid.
Anyone else have some good eats at the weekend ?

BBQ on friday, non Chinese foods i'm afraid but there was 1 Asian but still
not a Chinese dish, skate wings marinated with pounded chillis & Malaysian
shrimp paste, seasoned & wrapped in foil, too lazy to go Thai shop to buy
banana leaves... came out pretty good. Wanted to try FLM or HKD but ended up
in a rather posh but nice Italian, still money well spent. tutti benne? Si
grazzi... brushed up on a few Italian words too... can't be bad : )

Peppers stuffed with Salted Fish (Ham-um), pork and prawns

Re: Any thing nice for the weekend?
Hi All,
Went shopping up to Wing Yip in Croydon this weekend and usually I forget to
pop in Tai Tung to get some roast meats. This time I remembered and can
happly say I still think TT do the best roast duck sauce in south London.
Just thier ducks aren't as good as FLM...
Nice char-sui there as well, very sweet and fresh.
BBQ port is not crispy enough for my taste, you actually getter better BBQ
pork at the counter inWing Yip.
I would like say I'm just trying all food for the benefit of the group - but
nah, just enjoy my fan to much!

Re: Any thing nice for the weekend?
Hi Nathan,
from my last visit there a couple years back, the Wing Yip roasts come from
the same kitchen as TT's. From recollection, the chubby chef who manned the
counter did a quite good crispy roast pork (sil yuk). Incidentally, the
crispy pork is very popular over here as a dim sum dish, do they offer it
over there as a dim sum dish?
happy eating,
Chef!
