West Midlands Bustitution
On Rail News
"FIRST 'BUSTITUTION' CONFIRMED - WOLVERHAMPTON-WALSALL TRAINS TO
BE REPLACED BY 'FAST COACH SERVICE' . . . .
Wolverhampton-Walsall local service will be retained until April 2006,
then replaced by a fast coach service."
Methinks, how are they going to clear traffic on the A454 to make this
"fast coach service" possible?
Perhaps an intermediate station serving Willenhall may have made this
service more viable?

We've already commented on it in the thread about the West Midlands
RUS.

Hmm. 529 bus every 5 minutes, or a train once an hour if it turns up.
Nope, sorry, viable is one thing that service simply won't be. Would
have been a useful add-on had they reopened Walsall - Brownhills -
Lichfield (-Burton), because it would have provided connections at
Wolves, but as a standalone service, it was pretty pointless.
The coach is just a sop; I'm pretty sure it'll be quietly withdrawn in
2006.
