This must be an invaluable resource for people with local connections,
scattered around the globe, Stuart. Keep up the good work.

Nice site, Stuart. I enjoyed it. Threkeld sounds a nice place to live. Any
nice bungalows going?

Not at the moment. Several houses though - unfortunately rather pricey.

Re: Threlkeld website updates to 25th July 2005
You are wasting your time posting that here. In fact posting anything
here.
All of the uk.local. newsgroups, have been from the very beginning and
will be to the very end, safe play areas for all sorts of raging
nutters, social malcontents, control freaks and a wide assortment of
malevolent beings. You may feel that they should go elsewhere but
where? The asylums are all closed. What would you have of them?
Standing in their back yards at midnight howling to the full moon and
frightening the shit out of the neighbours into the bargain? Have them
running around shafting masons, suspected werewolves, communists,
socialists, conservatives and women with vaginal warts, by the dozen?
OR harmlessly making utter cunts of themselves in a uk.local group?
Lets face it what is one other cunt amongst the many already using
these groups?? I know what I prefer!!
The uk.local hierarchy of newsgroups is a valuable safety valve which
helps to keep society a wee bit more safe.
You may disagree. Iff you disagree I would be interested to hear your
opinion and no doubt would the rest of the group. Thanks in advance.

That seems to be par for the course in Cumbria. Any signs of the prices
levelling or dipping as they are here in the Midlands?

Wot's "rather pricey" for a house in Threlkeld these days
Stuart? I was thinking we could all chip in for a place for
Edith.
Do you think any sellers be inerested in trading for a fog-bound
acre in Nova Scotia with a fabulous view of the ocean, harbour
and lighthouse?

It takes one to know one - especially one that is not prepared to put
his name to his diatribe.

No-op!!
A house (3 bed not very large modern with superb gadren and single
garage and access across another property) was on the market for 145,000
when we were looking for this house (1996) It has sold again recently
for 450,000!! Fairly good views.

Johnny
A two up two down mid terrace built about 200 years ago in need of some
work garden not adjacent no parking or garage about 150,000 minimum
A three storey mid terrace built 1902 3 bed no parking garden about 15
feet square 250,000 asking now. Been on the market a while so you never
know what might be accepted!
Neither have very good views.
There are more!
We'd need a lot of chipping!
Coming to Nova Scotia in early October so will find out how fog bound!

Thanks Stuart. September and the first half of October are
usually the best months in Nova Scotia. October being cooler but
having the fall colours going full blaze. I may be there myself
late September or no later than mid-October myself. If you're
going to be going south as far as Yarmouth, I'll tell you the
best places for the worlds freshest seafood.
