Citizens Arrest Attempt on Judge at Leeds
CITIZEN'S ARREST ATTEMPT ON JUDGE
On Thursday 21 July 2005, independent human rights lawyer Anthony Wilde read
out a statement to Judge Kerry MacGill, accusing him of corruption in the
Yorkshire Ripper case, before attempting a lawful Citizen's Arrest on him in
a Leeds courtroom. Judge and jury were sent home and the court closed for
the day. Mr Wilde, who has a serious medical condition and is in constant
pain, was detained in Bridewell Police Station cells before being sent to
Armley Prison without charge. Mr Wilde, who has yet to be seen by a
solicitor, is due to appear in Court 1, Leeds Crown Court, at 10.00am on
Monday 25 July before Mr Justice Andrew Smith. Case Number U20051246.
The public demand that West Yorkshire Police act in the public interest and
bring charges against Kerry MacGill, not Tony Wilde.
