OT- a use for gamebore spent shells
I was down for a spot of pigeon shooting and our farmer was just checking
over the combine ready for the fray. He was going to pump up the tyres but
the pipe to the PTO was goosed so I offered to help fit a new one however we
found they don't come with sealing washers so in the spirit of Heath
Robinson I cut one out of s shell case and happy to report they work
beautifully I may have to keep a couple in my tool chest as they must have
other uses ?

Last time I gave one a second use I split it with a knife and used it as a
peg to hold some paper on a pattern plate.

I managed to eat a plastic wad once that was imbedded in the breast of a hen
pheasant.
