Seems to fit the story quite well. What's wrong with it? Not
a clear front 3/4 shot?

Ah, the publicity-seekers of Handforth again! Flagpoles, scupltures, 
artworks, heritage nameboards ... shame they haven't managed to get a 
decent train service as well....

Just cos it's a negative (possibly with a bit of colour balance messing),
don't make it art, IMHO. If you negate it back, the train under the arch in
the middle becomes clearer - can anyone identify it?

At a guess, judging by the fact that it's obviously on SWT somewhere as
the train in the background is a 442, I'd hazard a guess at Surbiton
(looking towards London), given the number of running lines that are
visible (left to right, up slow, up fast, down fast, down slow, and
just visible after the points, down hampton ct.)

I stand to be corrected, however.
