I fancy my barra' as a writer.
Is there a wee writers' circle in
Workington that I could join.
I write mainly Scottish stuff,
because I am a Scot, but I'm
getting to grips with Cumbria,
'cos I am in digs here.

Haven't come across anything like this, Bob, but if there is anything it'll
maybe be connected with the local adult education classes: they usually
bring out a programme towards the end of the summer for classes starting in
September so you could have a wee shuftie at that.

Thanks for your response.
I have had about 20 articles published in Canada in a Scottish
focus magazine. Here is my website that has, down the left hand
side some links to wee articles that I've written
www.glenallan.dsl.pipex.com
To be honest, they are in the main little caricatures of maybe
two pages that folks can read quickly. A lot of expatriate Scots
quite like them.
In a year and a half, I will be retired, so I really want to get
into writing seriously for fun, if ye get my drift.
Cheers

Yes, I've been to your website a few times. Great stuff it is too! Takes me
back to the Scotland of my dad's generation - long before your or my time!
