Carpet laying
Something to rival the veranda saga, for a day or two anyway.

I've been laying a carpet in the hall. I'd forgotten just how many muscles
are involved in this job. I'd forgotten I possessed some of these muscles,
but every one of them is aching now. And the job's not finished.

Yeah, I know, I should have insisted on letting Steve help, but there was a
lot of work to do in the garden as well.

It's an L-shaped hallway and a large second-hand carpet, and none of the
walls are exactly straight. (It's an old Cumbrian farmhouse - what do you
expect?)

I've blunted more knife blades than I thought possible. There are bits of
carpet all over the place. All the stuff from the lobby is piled in the
living room. (There were bookshelves and pictures on the wall, and a curtain
at the door, and stuff like that.) I can barely move right now, but tomorrow
I'm going to have to finish the job.

I know, I could ask Steve to help, but I've got my pride!

Oh well, at least it's another gorgeous sunset out there....

Swallow your pride and let Steve help.Your back has to hold all your life.
(same as all your other la'al bits)

When god made the world, he made the men the strongest
But just to give the women a chance, he made their tongues the longest.

Advisedly Edith.
