Les Moon, the landlord of this fine establishment, is retiring on 
Tuesday. He's keeping hold of the pub, but leasing it to a tennant. The 
new landlord currently works at The Hunters Inn, Poole-in-Wharfedale, I 
believe.

Ah! I remember Les from the Eagle in Leeds and other pubs in Leeds too! Ask
him if he remembers some garlic beer at the Eagle?! 

I wonder how many times he'll retire? I think he's already up to about 3!
He keeps cracking beer. Best wishes to him.

Amen. And I remember that damned garlic beer. Les was great at the
Eagle, and at the One Eyed Rat, more power to him in his retirement.
I'm sure I'll see him in the Blue Bell in York some day, he likes the
sandwiches and the wine (I kid you not!) in there.
