Air Conditioner Box near bulk head
Hi, can any one tell me what the black box is around the air
conditioning pipes that are near the bulk head ( Pegeot 306 Turbo
diesel 1998)? The box looks like it can be opened. When the air
conditioner is turned off in the car ( after having been on ) there is
a very "musty" smell. Is there anyway to combat this? Are there any
filters or blocked pipes that can be serviced? TIA. Incidently, the air
conditiononer is working well...i`m just curious.

probably you have a pollen filter, sometimes these have smell remover too,
it is replaced under usual servicing every two years, often neglected.
air con smells are common. any car shop will sell you various potions to
keep it all fragrant.

Turning off the AC and running the blower on high for a few minutes before
the end of your journey helps.
Halfords, etc, sell deodorisers for this purpose. Febreeze is said to work
too.
Switch the system to recirculate and spray into the in car air *intake* -
usually somewhere in the passenger's foot well.

Just a thaught.
Does that mean it's advisable not to use recirculate if you have a passenger
with smelly feet? :-)
