You made a claim, until it's all sorted and the other party is found at fault
and there insurance has paid up it's classed as a claim on your insurance so
they take your NCB away as you have made a claim. No other insurance company
would have handled it any differently and if you aren't going to help them out
you won't be getting your NCB reinstated.

If you think you have a valid claim try the Insurance Ombudsman (now part of
Financial Ombudsman) http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/ or The
Association of British Insurers http://www.abi.org.uk/

Nowrich union ARE a POS!

Several years ago one of their drivers rear-ended my car and caravan. It
took them *a year* to get the caravan fixed, five months to get the towbar
replaced on my car and left me without a caravan over the summer holidays
because they'd left it too late to arrange a courtesy 'van!

What *did( I get out of them? Two half-arsed repairs and 15 to cover
telephone calls. No loss of enjoyment/loss of use compensation for being
without the caravan for so long and they wanted to give me a Micra for the
three weeks it took them to replace the towbar!!!

The legal assistance provided by my own insurance co. to chase the above was
no better and not really interested once they found there was no personal
injury claims, so they didn't even bother to try...

Never again will I deal direct with an insurance co. after a non-fault
accident - from now on I'll just ring HelpHire and let them do it for me and
if it costs the insurers triple what they pay me then tough. FWIW, HelpHire
sorted my claim this year in three months and that was without having the
other driver's details, just his reg and a witness.
