Rover 200 Disc Replacement Torque Settings
Can anyone please tell me what torque settings I should be using when I
replace the brake discs on a Rover 200?
Thanks

Usually enough to hold them in place.
The wheel bolts/nuts do the real holding.

Aren't they on the back of some Rover hubs?

Dunno. I've never seen or heard of any fitted that way.
The hub would need to be removed to get them off.
My guess would be that they're conventional. Just a couple of screws to hold
them in place for wheel changes etc.

Eggzactly. ;-)

Dunno about the 200. But difficult disc changes seems to be a Honda thing.

They're on the back on Metros, and I think Montego and Maestros. Same on
older BL era cars too. I don't know about the more modern stuff though.

They're conventional on Rover SD1's

From memory they also bolt onto the back of the hub - so aren't held in
place by the wheel.
Of course, being rear wheel drive and having adjustable taper bearings at
the front, changing the discs is easy. Much more of a problem with FWD.

Yup you're right. Just checked.
Your memory is obviously better than mine. :-)

I haven't changed the discs for ages - but have worked on the front
suspension recently - and you see the disc fixing bolts on the hub.
