Edinburgh's Schemie Ned Boy Racers and their Super Cars...watch out visiting foreigners
Last week, I was in a popular Edinburgh Car Audio Centre, picking up a DAB
set for my Focus, and "King Ned" pulled up outside with a car which sounded
like a fighter jet. The car was a Mitsubishi Evo 54 plate, with Mclaren F1
style doors (Vertical Openings), the biggest and shiniest exhaust pipe I had
ever seen in my life, a PS2 AND XBOX was neatly integrated in the back, with
dual screens, and the speaker system shook the ground.
I asked the chap behind the counter "How much would a car like that cost",
the reply was along the lines of "The daft bugger has spent at least
60,000 on it (Including the purchase of the car), he is never out of here".
When the car owner entered the shop, he proceeded to the counter and asked
"Day yay huv any cables fur ma ipod, a canny listen tae it in ma cruiser",
he then proceeded to talk to his friend about a "night oot" and how he
"Pulled the tidiest burd ever"...he looked about 23 year old.
Now, this is an extreme case, but if you were to visit Waterloo Place at 9pm
most days, you will see that all these schemie neds have supped up, super
charged turbo injected bling bling machines. How the HELL do they afford
them?
Drugs, Pimping, Mugging?
Any ideas?
Jimboberry.
PS - Visiting Foreigners, remember to look both ways when crossing the roads
in Edinburgh, or one of these drug induced psychopathic boy racer maniacs
will end up taking your life. On the bridges a month or two ago, I saw two
Italian looking girls almost get squished by a "Super Dooper Vauxhall Nova"
with Tinted windows doing about 60mph...the girls kind of ran / jumped out
the way, next minute the car is on its way back down with the windows open,
and a bunch of baseball hat tramps wolf whistling and shouting obscenities.
Wish I had a grenade launcher at the time.

If they don't have passports, the Courts can't sentence them to a two
week holiday in Africa and so they just hand them a car and ask them to
play nice.

It looks as "King Ned" develops to an international phenomenon. I saw
two or three of those lads over here recently. Including the baseball
hats :-) Their profession is usually "son".

Have you seen the age of the girlfriends these creatures have? There's
probably a Malibu Stacey beach house built into the glove compartment.

Mostly they aren't really souped up, because they can't afford the
insurance. They are bottom of the range Corsas / Saxos / Kas with big
tailpipes.

lol. I once blew one of these guys away at a set of lights, He was revving
his engine and p*ssing me off, his car had spoilers all over the place. I
just floored it and ripped him to shreds, until I reached the speed limit,
at which point, after about 5 seconds, he went sailing by.

More like they don't know how to drive.
I regularly did that sort of thing to the home-boys in Austin. I was
drivving a Ford Explorer Auto at the time. They should be embarassed, and
I should grow up and not take so much pleasure out of it :-)

A friend of mine in Boston has an Audi S-6 estate, almost the epitome
of a soccer-mom-wagon. She even has a large yellow plastic duckie wedged
on the dash.
Under the bonnet (obUS: hood) is a bi-turbo 3 litre engine delivering
over 200 BHP to a four-wheel-drive setup with intelligent traction
control, very useful in Boston winters, also useful for trashing
tricked-up riceburners off the lights. She has lots of fun with this...

Yep, friend of mine had one of those here for a while. Very shiny, and
doesn't look that fast to the untrained eye. Nice car.

Their lord and master was in the Metro today having been served with an ASBO.
Michael Carrol, that scumbag who won the lottery is pictured next to his minivan

LOL, excellent site, that Metro is hilarious!
Most of these guys drive me nuts too. I don't mind people modding their cars
as a hobby (there are many worse things they could be doing), its when they
compensate for their lack of speed by making the exhaust as loud as
possible. In my day we just put bits of card into the spokes on our bikes
with clothes pegs.
The police should do spot checks with sound meter and slap an ASBO or
something on anything too loud.

Lack of speed, not true. My girlfriends old Fiat Panda 1.1 could hit 100 at
a push.
The attitude of these inbred wankshots is as follows:
1: Mod your car as much as possible, tinted windows, neon strobes, big shiny
tailpipe.
2: Get as cool and big a speaker system as possible - and always play it at
full volume with windows down, especcially when racing.
3: Chip up and tweak the engine in any way possible to help make the car
Start and Cruise faster than designed.
4: Find other tramps with similar setups and meet them on a daily & nightly
basis somewhere where lots of people can see them and give them attention.
5: Race.
Points 1, 2, 3 and 4 - I can live with, I would rather shoot them all, but I
can live with the first 4 points. Unfortunately for too many people, these
CUNTS kill people with there stupidly fast and stupidly over the top chipped
up cars. I have a 7 year old son, and god help any fucker who hits him
whilst speeding in one of these shitheaps.
I know we are having a pisstake here, but this is a serious deal - people
die daily due to this. The below cars may not all be "boy racer botch jobs"
but the attitude is the same. I urge you all to read the final story at the
bottom of this post, horrific.

David, from Trehafod, Rhondda, and his teenage schoolfriend Kyrion both died
after the Ford Escort struck another vehicle on the Trehafod bypass.
Mr Thomas said: "It's absolutely tragic that three young people should meet
an end like this.
The sooner matters like this are brought within the public domain the better
so the powers that be can do something about the boy racer culture that is
so prevalent in our society.

Testimony began Tuesday in the second trial of a Bristol man charged in the
deaths of two teenagers during a street race.
Michael Cabral, 24, is charged in connection with a crash nearly two years
ago that killed two teenagers and critically injured a third. Prosecutors
claim Cabral was racing another driver through the East Bay when a car
driven by Brendan Lombardi crashed into a tree in Bristol, throwing two
passengers to their deaths.

The driver of a 1988 Mazda RX-7 which sped away from the scene of a
street-race accident that claimed the life of a Woodland mother in Natomas
on Friday has come forward and turned himself in to authorities. According
to a report in Sunday's Sacramento Bee, the 19-year-old Rio Linda man, whose
name has not been released, called a CHP dispatcher at 11 p.m. Friday, CHP
spokesman Max Hartley told the Sacramento newspaper on Saturday.

A female motorist - whom the California Highway Patrol described as an
innocent victim - was killed Monday on a rural road south of Fresno in a
three-vehicle collision during a street race. The victim, traveling west in
a white pickup on Central Avenue, first collided with a Pontiac Grand Am,
which was traveling south on Fig Avenue and had run a stop sign while it
raced another vehicle, CHP Sgt. Terry Tidball said. The 5:18 p.m. collision
sent the victim's pickup into the oncoming lane of Central Avenue, where it
collided head-on with an eastbound large box-type truck, Tidball said. The
victim died at the scene, Tidball said.

As they pulled Thursday onto Huffman Boulevard from West Riverside
Boulevard, their van, carrying three generations of family members, was
struck by 27-year-old Kevin Marchini's Mercury Cougar as he raced with
another car. The grandmother, 78-year-old Antonia Espinoza Martinez
Virgilio, was killed, as was her grandson, 7-year-old Rodrigo E. Virgilio.
The grandfather will live, but he is paralyzed from the neck down. Carmen's
mother also will live, but with some degree of physical handicap.

OK, any car can go fast enough to kill people, especially when illegally
street racing as you have shown.
I've seen road rage races on the M8 between bog standard BMWs and Mercs
which are far more powerful and dangerous than your average Nova with a fart
can on the exhaust.
So of course the police should clamp down on street racing, whatever they're
driving, but they don't (can't?) seem to do anything about the late night
noise pollution from these fart cans and this affect a lot more people.

The other spot where these degenerates meet is in front of the Usher
Hall on Cambridge Street, near the Shakespeare. Occasionally they end up
in the nose-in parking spaces by the Citrus Club. They happily race at
tyre-squealing speed round Grindlay Street, Cambridge Street, Castle
Street and Cornwall Street well into the night. I've taken registration
numbers and called them in, but they are there most weekends so I'm
dubious about how much is being done. There are usually vanloads of cops
sitting outside Subway waiting for fights to break out right about the
same time.
