The Periodic Operating Notice for Anyone New to this Group
It seems to have been a while since I last posted my occasional notice
of Welcome, so here goes again:

If you've recently joined our merry band on uk.railway, Welcome! I hope
you will enjoy reading and posting here.

There are a few rules and regs to think about in the jolly world of
Usenet, and it makes life easier all round if everyone's aware
of them.

1) Our Charter (Rules & Regs if you like) at
<http://www.usenet.org.uk/uk.railway.html#uk.railway>.

2) Our FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) at
<http://www.ukrailwayfaq.co.uk/> (or
<http://www.network-southeast.co.uk/faq>).

3) And some general advice on newsgroups if you're new to all this
stuff: <http://www.dickalba.demon.co.uk/usenet/guide/intro.html> or
<http://www.usenet.org.uk/ukpost.html>, and/or subscribe to
<news:news.announce.newusers>.

4) Can't think of owt else just now, so just remember that
Usenet is supposed to be fun. Enjoy!

Tick, tock!

Now, I know I did volunteer to update the FAQ and the current person
looking after it did send me the files, please bear with me, it *is*
coming.

(Just don't ask when!)
