Our group's anonymous "friend" seems to be filling demon.test with a
number of test postings via different anonymous remailers. A bit
pointless as the list of suspects is down to just over 1.

I notice the new National Rail site will now flag and offer connections on
sleeper trains. But AFAICS it just seems to offer normal tickets (SVR, SOR)
for these trains not sleeper bookings. I went as far as the need for a
Trainline ...

Has anyone been able to find the "Virgin Value Advance 2 A" tickets ?
I usually book tickets from Manchester to London and the old "3 day advance
single" @22 seems to have disappeared.
Any ideas ?

Anyone know the ID of the Network rail test train that ran through
Sheffield this afternoon? Only saw it at speed, however it appeared to
be 31 hauled, at least at the rear.

Neither the National Rail or Trainline websites are applying railcard
discount to the new Virgin Value Advance ticket types. This is despite
both sites displaying under Ticket Terms - discounts the statement 'All
national railcards ...

I presume that most modern day depots have sand for the locos delivered by
road?
If it were rail delivered today, what would bring it in? A VGA with 25KG
bagged sand sound plausible, I am guessing that modern depots use allot ...

Extra charge for using credit card on The Trainline

It appears that The Trainline has introduced, unannounced, a surcharge
of 脗拢1.50 for any transaction paid for by credit card (but not debit
card). This only appears on the very last screen before payment is
made.

I'm looking into journeys from Manchester to London and from London to
Sheffield and would appreciate any recommendations for intermediate
points to "change between" tickets to save money on the total (A->B
plus B->C is cheaper than A->C).
