The Down line has been relayed in the gap at the site of the tunnel
collapse and sleepers are in for the Up line. Contractor's rail
vehicles in both parts of the tunnel. Someone seems to have been
persuaded that it is safe ...

My son (aged 21 so not a child) has just been stopped by an inspector
on a train. He had purchased a discounted ticket without realising
that his Young Persons railcard expired 3 weeks ago while he was on
holiday in Japan!

Yesterday, caught the 11.30 from Nottingham to London. Was a bit
surprised not to see it in the platform when I arrived at the station
(The HSTs generally spend 54 minutes idling there), but an ECS rake

I'm trying to trace a distant (in time and distance) relative whose last
known address was Wayside Station, Hodnet, Shropshire. There clearly isn't a
station at Hodnet now but can somebody out there supply any information ?
