My Fabia Radio only picks up 2 Radio stations, on local one (GWR FM and
Classic FM). It always used to pick up all other FM stations as well as AM.
Now AM is just blank and FM only the 2 mentioned.
Have checked the aerial ...

Cam belt change - now whistling

I had the cam belt changed recently on my 1994 Rover 214SEi. Since then the
engine appears to make a whistling noise when it's on. Does it when
stationary and is more noticeable when starting after cold, but it still
there ...

I've noticed a waft of fuel smell coming from my Alfa when the windows are
down. On top of this, the car seems to be returning dreadful MPG and is down
on performance. It went to a specialist who failed to diagnose what the

friends Saab 900 turbo, went in for a service.. and she was told "it will
need a new headgasket in 6 months".. now correct me if I am wrong, but I
thought head gaskets were either sound and good or fecked and broke..

I have just replaced the transfer case lubricant on my 2003 Toyota
RAV4. I followed the advice of the Haynes manual and used SAE 75W-90
gear oil. I have just looked in the handbook that came with the car and

Volvo S40 starting problems

Our S40 2.0 auto model is refusing to start on occasion - just making a
clicking noise when the ignition key is turned. A few tries later it is
starting (so far). Just noticed that the radio has lost its code too.
Any thoughts ...

I've just purchased a 89 G Ford Escort XR3i - it's in original
condition and is almost mint with only 67,000 miles and a full main
dealer service history.
I'm not concerned about the mechanics as they all seem pretty good ...

alarm/immobiliser, what does this mean, do the cars have them fitted as
standard?? If not, how much are they? Do other insurers require this ...

yaris verso - 4 years old, aircon not very cool - fine last year. could it
be the aicon filter, if so where is it? aslso could it be gas.

Undo Rover 600 caliper bolts

Trying to replace the rear discs on a Rover 600 (they're corroded).
The caliper mounting bracket is fixed to the hub with two 14mm bolts,
which are incredibly tight. I've got the top one off (nearside), but
there's no room ...
