Just how eco friendly are you really Doug?

Let's see you put your money where your mouth is (metaphorically) and
emulate this lady.

Thu, 3 Jul 2008 22:05:55 -0700 (PDT)
Told you so! When are you gutless, anti-protest motorists going to do
something about the government compelling you to use harmful biofuels?
"Biofuels have forced global food prices up by 75% - far more than
previously estimated - according to a confidential World Bank report
obtained by the Guardian.

Highly-paid footballers are openly flouting parking laws - because ¡ê70 fines are too easy to pay
Thu, 3 Jul 2008 21:58:50 -0700 (PDT)
I suppose the motorists who dominate and infest this transport
newsgroup will claim that this is a revenue making exercise on the
part of the council when, in fact, it is just another example of
criminal motorists.
"For most of us, having a parking ticket costing ¡ê70 or more is a
major irritant.
But when you ...

Abandoned cars
Thu, 3 Jul 2008 05:57:34 -0700 (PDT)
Not content with putting lives at risk, wrecking the environment and
causing massive inconvenience to the general public, motorists are now
dumping their cars in ever increasing numbers due to a drop in scrap
metal
prices.
And who has to pay to clear up this mess? Not the motorist concerned
nor
the motor manu ...

Motorists don't pay enough!
Thu, 3 Jul 2008 05:52:56 -0700 (PDT)
A study by the Institute of Transport at Leeds University, 'Surface
Transport Costs Report' at www.its.leeds.ac.uk, shows that motorists
may
only contribute as little as one third of the marginal costs they
incur.
Costs 13.8 pence/km
Revenue 4.5 pence/km
This is a national disgrace that should be remedied ...

a note from history
Thu, 3 Jul 2008 12:54:51 +0100
From 1909:-
"A few years ago two gentlemen were dining at a Shrewsbury Hotel when a
lumbering car was driven into the yard. Like many of the early motors, this
one was neither silent nor odourless, and one of the diners, pointing to the
snorting machinery, observed to his friend, "If ever I should become

Ask European politicians to vote against biofuel targets
Thu, 3 Jul 2008 04:40:45 -0700 (PDT)
" European Union policies are creating an artificial market in
biofuels, which is leading to large-scale destructive investment
across the world.
Now, the EU is debating plans to expand biofuels by increasing the
mandatory biofuel target to 10% by 2020, and two committees of the
European Parliament will be voting ...
