Recomend please - USB voip adaptor     Sun, 10 Aug 2008 13:01:04 GMT
Hi, Just started using SMSlisto and am very pleased. Quality OK, price right. Actually seems better quality than Skype and much cheaper. Currently microphone round my neck, caller on the speaker - works quite well. I'd like to be able to use it around the house and on a wired phone. I don't mind having the ...

Can anyone recommend a Canadian VOIP provider that will give me a Toronto number? One that has a very low monthly subscription and no set-up fee since I will just use it for incoming on X-lite and toll-free calling in Canada. Thanks, Stu ...

Reccommended DECT / VOIP phone?     Thu, 07 Aug 2008 20:44:16 +0100
I'm looking to replace our old current household system of 3 DECT phones with something a bit more up to date, which doesn't have stuck-down keys and will get SWMBO off my back! ;-) Thing is, technology has moved on a bit since I last looked and I haven't a clue what to go for. Any suggestions please? Req ...

FreeWorldDialup ends the free ride.     Wed, 6 Aug 2008 16:23:40 +0100
Thats's all folks! Jeff Pulver has just spoken. As from 1 September, it'll cost $30 per year for your account with FWD. Seems to be per email address rather than per number of SIP accounts, so mayhap we could all club together as member(at)utv.org.uk for one humungous FWD sip a/c? Not in the spirit of comme ...

SPA-3000: PSTN problem. Possible hardware fault?     Wed, 06 Aug 2008 10:41:22 GMT
I have never really used the FXO port on my SPA-3000. However, I thought I would try coupling up a Fritzbox FXS line to the FXO on the SPA-3000. I can see 43V is present on the web info. page, for the PSTN line, but there is no activity of any kind in or out from the FXO to the handset, i.e. no ringing, no diall ...

Has anyone used these? Or managed to get them to with the a service other than BTs... They do seem to good to be true - at the price, but if they're locked to BT, then obviously that's no-use! Cheers, Gordon ...
