Newbie: porting Unlocking Networks

Is porting the same as unlocking?
If not, please can you explain.
Also, when people talk of providers and networks, I don't understand
the difference.

What is 3's policy for unlocking handsets when min contract is up?
And does it hack it's phone s/w - I read an old post that some 3
phones have had menus trashed so that network selection to another
operator is impossible.

Charged for Orange GPRS Extra but it hasnt been applied

Having bought and successfully used the ¡ê1 daily GPRS extra yesterday (at
12.10am) I did the same today (at 12.15am). It charged me the ¡ê1 and told me
it had been successfully applied. Just to check I phoned 453 and listed all
extras. Oh dear, no GPRS extra. I did a test download of a few k and found I

mobileshop who i have been with for the last 3-4 yrs, but cant find the
phone on a 12mth contract, not with cashback deals,
Can anyone recommend anywhere else to check please, have already looked at

Are e2save getting slower with cashback cheques

I have had multiple mobiles with them for years and never had a single
problem getting cashback cheques on time but have one claim sent in 11 weeks
ago an no cheque. How are others finding them and best way to chase?
