Upgrade Speed

I'm about to change my ISP.
I currently have an "8 Mb" service from Nildram which shows about 2.5 Mbps
on a speed checker.
So, is there any point to going for a "16 Mb" service with my new ISP
(probably O2)?

BT 2wire 2700HGV, will it retrain the ADSL speed?

I have just changed my router for a BT 2wire 2700HGV and notice that unlike
my previous router, it is syncing at a bit lower speed (3486 kbps) as
apposed to my previous common router sync speed of 4128 kbps. But I also

Decent modem/router for ADSL2/2+

After my recent question about the compatibility of my old router with an
ADSL2/2+ connection, it turns out to be a moot point as the said router will

News Server For Sky?

On dialup at present, with an isp that has a news server which I access via
Outlook Express.
What happens if I move to Sky broadband, do Sky have a news server, if not
how are newsgroup messages accessed ?
