Broadband Suppliers
Sat, 17 May 2008 09:21:01 +0100
Hi
We have a 0.5meg fixed service currently supplied by BT.
We now need a fixed IP address. We could pay BT extra for the priviledge on
our existing service or we could 'upgrade' to ADSLMax and go with a supplier
that offers a fixed IP as part of the package.
Speed is not an issue but the increase in upload ...

I don't know if anyone on here uses this service for Usenet access but I
hope this post will be useful.
They appear to be having some problems as someone else has hijacked their
domain and it is not possible to access through nntp.aioe.org.
However their test / back-up server aioe.cjb.net is working. Indeed ...

ADSLmax Speed Vs ADSL Speed
Fri, 16 May 2008 23:13:55 +0100
I am a wee bit confused as to projected adsl speeds shown on a BT phone
line connected to a Hemel Hempstead exchange.
The BT speed checker at http://www.adslchecker.bt.com/pls/adsl shows
speeds of 'an ADSL broadband service that provides a line rate up to
1Mbps' and then goes on to say 'Our test also indicate ...

You want to see an AOL conversation? It's been adjusted to protect the
innocent.

you're a spam sender, they block your IP address and you have to call
them to unblock:

How to trace a pair?
Fri, 16 May 2008 16:24:02 +0100
Hi
I need to trace a pair from a master socket flush mounted face plate (not an
NTE5) back to a BT connection box. On this site there are no NTE5 boxes, just
a sodding great cable that comes into the property. The majority of which are
then connected to a Panasonic Digital PBX.
However, there is one line that ...
