doesn't go out of the network), is there any other network code which can be
used?

I was just paying my BT bill and finally decided that if I have to pay a
penalty for not using Direct Debit then I will make sure that processing
my payment costs them something. So I will in future always pay by
cheque posted to them, I have used online / electronic payment for many
years (Before Internet!).

For a short time I need to use a UK email-to-fax service. Googling
brings up loads and I have nothing on which to base a choice between
them. Free is very good, cheap is acceptable, and reliable is v.
important - I need to be confident that anything sent via the service
does actually get delivered.

Recording calls - legal issues

What is the legal position on recording telephone calls where there is a
possibility that the conversation could constitute a contract?
Is it required that the other party is aware of the recording?
If they are not, does that render the recording unusable for proving the
content of the call - that they said so ...
