And could anybody explain what these settings do and why some providers use different values? Thanks in ...

So far, so great. But ...

I have a friend in Illinois whom I frequently call and text from the UK. He tells me my texts (SMS) cost him money to receive and ditto with my calls. He is with AT&T.
