Texts to landlines
Wed, 1 Jul 2009 19:35:58 +0100
Last night I got several repeated voice text messages on my landline. The
sender had sent a single message about 10pm but we got called about 4 times
between 3-6am with the same message. Couldn't unplug the phones as I was on
call.
I phoned the BT text service and it said I had the standard curfew on voice

What do peopel (incorrectly) mean by RJ9, RJ10, RJ22 ?
Mon, 29 Jun 2009 12:12:26 +0100
I often see references to these phone plugs RJ9, RJ10, RJ22.
It turns out those are non-standard names for a 4P4C connector.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4P4C
What are the people who use these names likely to mean?
Could they be using another name than 4P4C if the connector pins on the
lead are wired in a ...

2nd BT line: elect which room to have it installed in?
Mon, 29 Jun 2009 08:44:14 +0100
I'm considering getting a second line (am currently with BT, and they
seem to be the only residential supplier in this - rural - area). GF is
moving in and we could do with a dedicated line for home-office type of
setup (and she spends quite some time on the phone to her Mum in Italy).
I've just seen the B ...

OT Just wondering
Fri, 26 Jun 2009 21:12:19 GMT
I am just wondering if 99.9% of all the various happenings in the
world have been brought to an abrupt halt or something today because
all I have heard and seen whenever I have switched on TV news
programs to day is "Michael Jackson". No mention about our troops
being killed in Afghanistan, no mention about the U ...
