Automated call from BT to cut me off although I made automated payment 10 days ago
Tue, 03 Jun 2008 14:16:49 +0100
Got an automated call telling me I hadn't paid my bill, and line would
be cut off if I didn't pay pdq.
Recording even suggested I made an automated payment by debit card.
I had paid with their automated service Monday last week!
Did an automated check -> bill recorded as having been paid.
Took me an hour to ...

Home phone with "shared" phonebook
Mon, 2 Jun 2008 07:48:13 -0700 (PDT)
Can anyone recommend (or suggest) a home phone that has the ability to
share it's phone book between handsets? I know that B&O phone can do
this by storing the details on the base station but I don't think ¡ê350
per handset is a very agreeable sum!
Thank you.

CPS suggestions

Currently signed up to Tiscali Talk, but as they're up for sale, and I
don't fancy giving my business to any of the suggested purchasers, could
people suggest an alternative? Not looking simply for the cheapest, but
most of what I've found so far are the special code variety.

Checking DACS situation before reconnecting line
Sat, 31 May 2008 22:38:15 GMT
I want to get my BT line reconnected so I can get ADSL broadband, so I
phoned BT to ask whether there's a DACS on my line. All they said was
that if there was it would be up to my broadband provider to arrange
for it to be removed.
I'm not happy about the possibility of paying to have the line
reconnected and s ...

Is it only BT that can activate a line?
Sat, 31 May 2008 11:28:31 +0100
I am moving into a brand new house where the telephone line has been
installed, but BT want to charge ¡ê124 for effectively just flicking a switch
and activating it and I have to sign up for a 12 month contract! Is BT the
only company that can do that? I am sick of being fleeced by BT so even if
it costs the ...

Phone and Broadband for less than 6 months
Fri, 30 May 2008 20:10:32 +0100
Hi,
I've just moved into a new (rented) apartment and I expect to be there for
less than 6 months.
I understand that BT have recently started to enforce their 12 month
contractual term which historically they ignored. Can anyone confirm that I
have got this correct?
If it is, I need to find a supplier w ...
