What's the record for successive days of rain?

Does anyone know what the record is in the UK for the number of successive
days of rain?
Here in Carmarthenshire we've now reached 19 straight days on which rain
fell. I suspect this is still a long way short of the record, but it seems
like ages since I was able to get out and do any serious work outside.

Weird Weather Monitor 2 raingauge

Any owner of one these gauges may be intrigued by this story. It's well
known on this NG that the reed switch eventually dies - mine has lasted 10
years so a good run I think.
Anyway I checked out how to replace the reed switch and found a good little
site that gives clear instructions
