"No man-made global warming says scientist"!
Wed, 28 Oct 2009 23:12:04 +0000 (GMT)
At least that was the gist of something ending just before the 1757 weather
forecast on Radio 4 Wednesday evening.
The summary was to the effect there were clearly many scientists sceptical
of global warming - this SEEMED to be because someone called Corbyn said it
was all due to the Sun's magnetic field which m ...

[WR] Otter Valley, Devon - 28th Oct
Wed, 28 Oct 2009 19:41:55 -0000
A warm and generally sunny day even though the forecast was for cloud and
drizzle, especially this afternoon.
Felt more like early September with a max of 18.3¡ãC after an overnight
minimum of 12.1¡ãC.
The warm days since the 20th have helped push the mean daily max for this
month to 16.1¡ãC, and the overnigh ...

Wave depression will cause problems this weekend
Wed, 28 Oct 2009 18:20:28 -0000
Track/speed is very variable but cyclogenesis has been well signalled.
Latest 12Z GFS has it bang over the Midlands at T+96 with 50 knot gales into
SW England. Unlikely to be right as previous runs ran it faster and main
deepening was over Ireland into western Scotland with gales there. Either
way there is pot ...

Wed, 28 Oct 2009 11:17:01 -0700 (PDT)
12z gfs has Sunday's depression on a very interesting track. I feel
that the low centre wil end up further North than currently forecast,
but there's some gales and heavy rain likely to be wrapped around that
low and it could prove to be a damaging storm. Lots of leaves still
left on trees and lots of blocked drai ...

... TV on in the corner of the room (BBC): 'Flog-it' on this
afternoon; not my cup of tea, but whilst I was idly cross-referencing
bits and pieces from the latest 'Weather' mag (excellent, BTW) to my
notebooks/textbooks, I was aware that they were 'flogging' a
barograph.
Apparently, this chap had asked his ...
