I was on the 8-09 Cross Country service from Wilmslow to Manchester this
morning which was trundling along behind the delayed 8.00 northern service.
However, as we approached Cheadle Hulme station we switched onto the Up line
and "overtook" the northern service which was stopped at the platform.
