When "I was a lad" there was one local shop you could buy components in,
unless you could convince the local TV repair shop to sell you some bits.
Until about 1970 it was in a relative backwater of the town, a bit dusty,
and mainly stocked with components etc. They did stock some ex-WD radio
stuff and maybe so ...
