Hope this is the right group for this... I lost my job recently
(involuntary redundancy) and so I applied for jobseeker's allowance
last week. I was phoned on Thursday by my previous employer, who said
he'd got a form from the Jobcentre people, asking about the
circumstances of my dismissal (was it voluntary or in ...

I applied for DLA 12 months ago. Was refused. Had a tribunal hearing
just before Christmas. Their decision went against me. Appealed to
Social Security Commisioner's office. They granted me leave to appeal.
They said the first tribunal's decision was wrong in law. I now have a

I'm not on any benefits and have no intention of being, but i've
recently cleared my mortgage so I own my house outright (it's only a
modest ex-council house sadly, nothing exciting - and still worth less
than ¡ê100k).
How is this factored into benefit calculations i.e. is it seen as an
asset that takes me a ...

JSA:Home visit by Customer Compliance Officer?
Sun, 17 Jun 2007 10:53:37 +0100
Recieved a letter about a visit next week to 'discuss a query that has
arisen concerning your claim to benefit'.
It asks to have such things as Bank statements, bills etc available.
Has anyone had one of these? I'm curious as to why a home visit rather than
calling me in? Should I be concerned?
Thanks for ...

Housing benefit without a tenancy document.

accepted on a house and is currently living there and paying rent.
There is no rent book or any formal tenancy agreement. It's been through
pure word of mouth and the only evidence she has are of cheques made payable
to the landlord / own ...
