What the DWP is doing to protect your personal details

On Thursday the DWP mailed us this circular (below) which tells us to
"suspend" sending them your unprotected personal info by courier company
(in this case not TNT). It includes their internal memo at the end.
On Friday "a junior official" rang us to make sure we'd got the
circular.

I'm on JSA, but I have been offered a couple of days work next week -
it should be less than 16 hours.
IRC I can do up to 16 hours without having to sign off.
The work is on my signing day next Thursday - do I tell the DWP before
or after I do the work?

Tax refund

If on JSA or IB, as I understand it you can't claim a tax refund as it comes
through automatically at the end of the financial year.
What about Pension Credit? This year, before stopping work in August, I
paid just over ¡ê400 in tax. Can I apply for a refund or do the same rules
apply as for JSA and IB.

Payment from Job Broker

I was on IB, I'm now claiming IS at a reduced rate while I'm waiting for a
review.
I've been seeing a SIBA arranged job broker. They've jsut sent me a cheque
for ¡ê50.
Do I need to declare this to the Housing Benefit / CTB people; and what
effect will it have on those benefits?
