I have been sent a letter saying I have another week to complete and return
the forms. The plan is to return them with an amount on them, then wait to
see what they do.
within 2 months I will be changing places with my wife who will be returning
to work after maternity leave and I will have to give up my job ...

If I ignore this first letter will they send another one? I am just trying
to buy some time. How long before they start making assessments etc and
going to your employer for a DEO?
Have many been successfully prosecuted for non compliance in the court ...
