Sun, 1 Nov 2009 19:40:24 -0000
Good evening all.
I am tidying a spare bedroom and want to move a dual voltage shaver socket
from one place to another.
This is an MK gadget with separate 115/240V outlets.
At present the unit is in a deep surface mounted pattress on a solid wall.
I will move it to a stud wall with t&g panelling and could qu ...

Help - Cat flap "trap" design
Sun, 01 Nov 2009 19:22:28 +0000
My neighbours have a new and very smart cat which has taken to coming
through our cat flap every night and walking around on the kitchen work
surfaces. I caught it once by setting the cat flap to "in only" and
severely "deterred" it - this was effective for a while but the damned
thing has started again and it ...

Gaps in loft insulation
Sun, 01 Nov 2009 17:43:41 +0000
Checking out the loft insulation in a recently purchased house, I
found the builder had installed the regulation 100mm (house built
about 1997) so I have added another 100mm layer over most of the loft.
However the main bedroom has 5 flush mounted light fittings in the
ceiling, and the installer had cleared an o ...

mouse food or mouse poison!
Sun, 1 Nov 2009 16:58:40 +0000
Its the time of year when all the mice come in from the fields. Some of
them end up in my attic. And as usual I went around and topped up the
mouse poison.
This year the stuff I got from B&Q (but made by Rentokil) looks to be a
grain coated in some kind of blue stuff, which I guess is the poison.
The stuff see ...

Edge of flat roof leaking
Sun, 1 Nov 2009 05:52:12 -0800 (PST)
Hi,
Water is coming through the edge of the wall and ceiling on an
external wall. There is a flat roof with felt that looks in decent
condition. I think the rain is coming through a crack in the roof felt
as it folds over the edge of the roof. Most of the rain water is going
into the gutter but some is runni ...

Hi,
I wonder if anyone can help?
I have recently bought a campervan based on a Fiat Ducato chassis. It
has a three pin diagnostic connector. I have an interface that uses
the standard 16 pin plug for use with my car. Does anyone know if it
is possible to make or buy an adaptor to use with the Fiat?

Sun, 01 Nov 2009 11:00:54 +0000
Hi all,
I'm having problems with my Indesit WIA111 washing machine and wondered in
anyone here had any pointers.
The washing cycle starts off fine, with the machine drawing in water and
turning a bit. It heats the water up and then just stops.
The door light (which is normally solid red) starts flashing, a ...
