Hotpoint WD420?
Fri, 30 Oct 2009 21:58:31 GMT
Rather a confused tale, sorry...
She says that it sometimes just flashes all of the lights quickly. I
saw it briefly - turned its power off at the mains, back on and it
seemed to be back to normal.
I did just once get it show what I think is a fault code on its lights
- power light flashing slowly, with bo ...

CCTV - Flat panel infra-red illuminators?
Fri, 30 Oct 2009 21:00:02 +0000
Thinking of upgrading the CCTV I have in my car port. Looking at the
'Outdoor Auto-Tracking PIR CCTV Camera' from Maplins, and want to
provide some Infra-red illumination for night. Problem is all the IR
lights look like mini-spotlights, ie they all stick out. I'd like a

Any old iron? Microwave knacked.
Fri, 30 Oct 2009 18:11:36 +0000
Having ordered (for ¡ê13.50) a new fuse part for our Matsui microwave,
I've decided it's scrap (since when I had it reassembled, it produced a
spectacular show of sparks, crackles and smells when I tried to use it).
Before I take it intact (including new fuse part) to the recycle depot:
has anyone suggestions ...

Stop tap in street (update)
Fri, 30 Oct 2009 16:25:21 +0000
I'd written to them as the water ccc said to and got a neighbour
affected to also write to them.
Today a water board man turned up with his dowsing rods and drew some
blue pattern on the floor. He's sending someone out to sort it out.
Will update again when they turn up again!

Stripping PVA and masonary paint for exterior wall?
Fri, 30 Oct 2009 09:23:34 -0700 (PDT)
Here's the lowdown...
I rendered my garden wall to a smooth finish, then PVA'd it, then
painted it with Leyland exterior masonary paint.
The big mistake was PVAing it! Not allowing the wall to breathe
through the paint layer and dry out after a wet spell.
The result... large clusters of bubbling as parts of the ...

14.5 Kg Calor cylinder.
Fri, 30 Oct 2009 09:15:50 -0700 (PDT)
I picked up a '15Kg' cylinder from the local tip today in order to
get a 4.5Kg one for my camping stove.
I've decided to keep it for a while since they charge me ¡ê10 and it's
got 4Kg of gas in it, however I note that it states 14.5 Kg Net weight
on the side of the bottle. Is this still a viable bottle for exchang ...
