Paper Makers Arms, Tovil, Maidstone
Tue, 25 Dec 2007 07:28:10 -0800 (PST)
I just discovered the P&DJ Goacher website (http://www.goachers.com/)
and note that their original tied house (around the corner and up
Tovil Hill from the brewery) is not listed as carrying their beers.
Does anybody know what happened to this pub?
I had my first pint in England in the other (perhaps only) Goach ...

Horsham area breweries?
Mon, 24 Dec 2007 19:53:26 +0000
My nephew is now working at or near Horsham. I'd like to
point him in the direction of a local source of fine real
ale.
My best plan (subject to availability) is to invest ¡ê20 with
a local brewery available for him to pick up some bottles,
'have a tour of the pipes', and get the gen on local retail outlets.

breweries have been started on less, though I suppose she'll be spending

Price of a Pint
Sat, 15 Dec 2007 07:10:58 +0000
The press seems to be full of doom and gloom stories about the
rocketing price of barley and hops, which in turn will lead to a price
rise at the pub of up to 60%.

Mon, 3 Dec 2007 13:09:51 -0000
On Saturday, I'm planning on a drive and some walking around the disused
lines beyond Aylesbury and Quainton Road that were once the Buckinghamshire
outpost of the Metropolitian railway.
Being totally unfamiliar with the area, I'd like to know of a good pub for
lunch in or close to the villages formerly serve ...
