Marrow curry
Wed, 9 Sep 2009 08:02:16 +0100
Really works. soak some lentils, make a curry, onion, ginger, termeric,
chilli, coriander, cardamon, cumin, blanch marrow cubes in termeric water
and then combine with the curry. The contrast between hot and cool really
works. Just as deep fried watermelon worked the other day.

Julie and Julia
Tue, 8 Sep 2009 10:29:13 -0600
For a bit of light entertainment, go and see the film with Meryl Streep, who
nails the part of Julia Child.
Julia was at least as influential in the US as Elizabeth David was in the
UK. She attributed her long life to red meat and gin!!!
To see her in action, the YouTube clip is quite good (there are many more) ...

not many people know this

Japan started making whisky in 1923, they drink it with food the way we
drink wine and match it with seafood and sashimi, we are a key export
market, fooled me! I've heard of Suntory, never seen a bottle.

Should I go or should I stay?
Mon, 7 Sep 2009 17:07:57 +0100
"http://www.victorianrestaurantattheprincealbert.co.uk/menus.html"
have a flyer for a new "Victorian" "fine dining" restro in Bexleyheath,
"wrong side of the tracks" really, wonder if I should give it a try?
"grilled fresh Escolar with sauce vierge" hadn't ever seen that on a menu,
its butterfish it seems.

I'm puzzled as to what this could stand for, the nearest I've got so far is
'Impotent Old Geysers', if it isn't that, what on earth could it be?
