I recently saw a TV programme which mentioned something about making
raspberry liqueur. It seemed very simple: Get raspberries, put them
in vodka, leave for a couple of weeks, add sugar, leave for a
few more weeks.

I made pears poached in red wine (which were good) and as I was loath
to just throw away the resulting liquor I tried making jelly out of
it.
just over 2 pints of liquid plus the water the gelatine was dissolved
in and the packet said one sachet of gelatine per pint to set so I
used 2 and a half.
