Curry Secret" and also from hand-me-down methods from relatives. Whenever

Hi all
If I buy Butter Chicken from a restaurant it always tastes wonderful, but
whenever I try the 'make it yourself at home' recipes, it's always far more
tomato flavoured than the restaurant ones and no-where near as tasty.

In my local curryhouse I order a poppadum and get given a selection of
dips. Lime pickle, mango chutney and chopped onions are three of the four.
The fourth is some kind of illuminous yellow thing but it is really
tasty, what is it?

Sambar with meat??

I seem to remember seeing recipes for something rather like sambar but
with added meat. Only I can't remember what it's called so can't find
a recipe anywhere. It's not kootu, as far as I know that's a
dhal-and-veggies curry, as is sambar. Can anyone help me out? I have
some mutton chops that would go nicely ...
