Recipe for Aloo Bondas
Thu, 26 Oct 2006 02:25:17 GMT
These are delicious snacks - Southern Indian in origin, but eaten all over the country now. I am hosting my book club tomorrow night, and we just read The Mango Season by Amulya Malladi, so I thought some Southern Indian snacks were in order. On the subject of mixer/grinders...
25 Oct 2006 10:18:53 -0700
So, back at the end of July, I posted that I'd ordered one of the
Sumeet "Asia Kitchen Machine" mixer/grinders from their North American
"distributor" at sumeet.net. Well, it hasn't arrived yet, and things

test for smell.
In the early days of ufdi someone posted about the scent fi ...

Erachi Varathathu (Beef Curry)
James, one more recipe with curry leaves for you... this dish is terrific,
but I really do think it's better the second day. This is a wonderful
Moslem dish from the Kerala area of India. The dish on its own seems a
little salty, although once I had it with rice it was just ...

Kadhi with Pakoras
Tue, 24 Oct 2006 01:56:48 GMT
James, here is the recipe I mentioned. There are many, many varieties of
this dish - kadhi - and even this one I play with a lot. But try it - see
what you think. I often add some finely chopped potatoe or grated zucchini
to the pakoras. Oh, and I do not add the sugar to the kadhi - that's a
Gujarati thi ...
