A level English Language - a critique
Sun, 20 Jul 2008 17:04:54 -0700 (PDT)
The biggest fallacy it has been my
misfortune to have dogmatised was
that Chomsky is unneccessary at
foundation linguitics (ie "Advanced")

Meter and metre
Thu, 17 Jul 2008 02:20:07 -0700 (PDT)
According to every dictionary I have been able to find, the proper
British spelling of "metre" ends in -re, whereas the proper British
spelling of "perimeter" ends in -er.
Is there any reasonable explanation for this inconsistency?
