To cut a long story short we lived in a housing association property.We were
having major problems with the neighbours and the HA told us to contact the
council and fill in a homeless application. We did this and were made
homeless. We spent 6 weeks in a caravan. We were offered B&B but because

chancel repair indemnity insurance

I'm in the process of buying a freehold house in England and the
solicitor has suggested I take out chancel repair indemnity insurance.
Can someone please explain what this is and why it might be necessary?
As the house is freehold surely the church can't come along and demand
money from me for its upkeep?

Are these postings re English Churches Housing Group for real or is some
