Arrival Tea/Coffee no longer free

Hi folks,
It now appears that the offer of a free cup of tea or coffee upon
arrival at a YHA hostel in England and Wales has now been removed
(except costed group packages).
What do you think?

Limited Means So What? (part 2)

The concession long offered to students, unemployed, disabled and
other people of limited means has been quietly withdrawn by the YHA
this week. Not that they've told anybody about it apart from the
wardens.

Steps Bridge - For Sale (again)

Hi all,
In this weeks Okehampton Times' property section there is the old YHA
Step Bridge youth hostel up for sale (again). It looks like the owner
who bought it off YHA is getting rid of it. It was due to be in the
YHA Enterprise network but that seems to have fallen through - but
I've forgotton why right now. ...

Anybody notice that the YHA website was advertising over 20000 beds at
12.95pounds at selected hostels in September on their website the
other day?
For some reason it got removed pretty quickly. Anybody know whats
going on? Anybody got the page(s) cached on their hard drive as
evidence? I'd be interested to hea ...

proposals.

Balivanich Bunkhouse closed

The Taigh na Cille bunkhouse (hostel) at Balivanich on Benbecula,
Outer Hebrides, is closed.
Ignore the several websites which still list this hostel. The building
is now a nursey school.
